Before you buy a dodoesim, confirm two things: your device supports eSIM, and it is not carrier-locked.
iPhone
iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and every iPhone since support eSIM. In the United States, iPhone 14 and newer are eSIM-only — they don't have a SIM tray at all.
Google Pixel
Pixel 3 and newer support eSIM. Note: the Pixel 3 sold in Japan and Australia by some carriers shipped without eSIM support — check Settings → About phone → IMEI; if you only see one IMEI, eSIM may not be available.
Samsung Galaxy
Galaxy S20 and newer support eSIM in most markets. The Z Fold and Z Flip families, A55 and up, Note 20 5G models all work. Some China-market Galaxy models ship without eSIM.
The 30-second test
- Open your phone Settings.
- Search for "eSIM" in the Settings search bar.
- If you see an "Add eSIM" option, your phone supports it.
Is your phone carrier-locked?
Most phones bought outright are unlocked. Phones financed through a carrier are typically locked until the contract is paid off. To check on iPhone: Settings → General → About → look for "Network Provider Lock" — it should say "No SIM restrictions."
